J. Lewis & Co Ventures Ltd., operating
as Sassy Tuna Studio®, is a multidisciplinary creative studio led by
Creative Director and Producer-Director Julie Lewis. From our studio at
736 Water Street, we build work at the intersection of biometric
interactive art, documentary filmmaking, ecological advocacy, and
place-based practice ~ grounded in knowledge frameworks of kinship,
reciprocity, and intergenerational accountability.
Our current productions - The Rise and Fall of the Alpha and Beta: The Sensory Wolf - connect participants' own physiological data to the story of the extinct Newfoundland wolf and the at-risk Atlantic wolffish, turning heartbeat and breath into a bridge between people and the species we've lost - and might still save.
We also run a community makerspace, offering hands-on arts education - painting, drawing, crafts, and sequential art - to youth and families across the region, in-studio and on the road.
